On Wednesday May 22nd Pat was joined by The RTE National Concert Orchestra, John Sheahan, legendary folk singer Finbar Furey and Navan native conductor and arranger Brian Byrne for a night to remember. A completely sold out concert hall was treated to beautifully arranged pieces from Pat’s back catalogue including the latest from his newest release Ophelia. On an emotional night Pat thanked everyone for their amazing support. Pat also paid tribute to Brian Byrne’s father, who was Pat’s mentor at a critical period in is life. In attendance was Shay Healy of RTE who said ‘Playing an electrified Spanish guitar, made for him by Malahide wizard, Dermot Quinlan, Pat evoked the sounds and atmosphere of environments as disparate as the icy waste of the Antartic to the leafy woods of the Boyne Valley. It was a big night for Navan’.
Some more kind words on the night…….
"That’s the Eye I keep on the Conductor... can’t see anything with the Other... not even the Music... Sold out concert tonight NCH... Navan-man Pat Coldrick, inspirational World-class Classical Guitarist, playing highlights of his 3 CDs, Cayendo, Cityjam and Ophelia... Love Lament, Remembering Starlings and the haunting Antarctica... The RTE Concert Orchestra would love to claim Credit for the Crowd, but Pat’s blood is worth bottling, he single-handedly sold every seat himself... lights were out in Navan tonight as they were all in the Concert Hall"
